Objective: This study investigates marketing as an instrument used globally by pharmaceutical industries to reduce competition in the sector and obtain more expressive profits in the sale of its products in the domestic and international markets and the anti-corruption compliance as a tool to prevent it. Methodology: The investigation adopts the deductive method, through a qualitative approach, to produce in-depth information; regarding the procedure, it is a bibliographic and documentary research, through the review of the literature on the subject. The bibliographic sources include scientific articles and works on the subject; documentary sources include international reports on transparency in business and administrative court decisions issued by the U.S. Department of Justice. Results: This analysis shows that anti-corruption policies are needed throughout the pharmaceutical value chain to increase transparency around key decision points and strengthen the responsibility of actors. To combat corruption in the health sector is essential to ensure human and economic development. One of the challenges is that corruption and health are often seen as two distinct areas of public policy. Contributions: The research is a relevant study for the health sector globally, because it clarifies the practices of corruption made possible through marketing with health professionals, as well as the vulnerability of the population, which lacks technical information
